Charities

The primary focus of the World of Beer Festival is to bring you an enjoyable and friendly festival with world class beer.  Most of the money we make goes right back into funding the next festival and bringing you a great selection of beers to enjoy. However, since the festival’s inception, we have been donating remaining proceeds to support our local beer community.

Professional Scholarship

Every year we can afford to, we open a scholarship opportunity for a local (Midwest) brewing professional to attend the Siebel Institute for a two-week intensive certification training program.

Previous winners include:

  • Andrew Piontek, Stone Arch Brewpub
  • Marc Drucker, Goose Island Beer Company
  • Alec Steinmetz, Rustic Road Brewing Compant
  • Chad Sheridan, Lakefront Brewery
  • Allyson Rolph, Thirsty Pagan
  • Justin Bohn, South Shore Brewing
Community Education

We also put money toward education the larger community about beer and brewing. We have brought in guest speakers to the Milwaukee area, and in 2016 hosted an Advanced Homebrewing Conference that was open to the public and featured speakers including:

    • John Mallet
    • Chris White
    • John Palmer
    • Stan Hieronymus
    • Kevin Wright
    • Colin Kaminski
Other Giving

Prior to 2011 most of the funds raised by this festival went to the Museum of Beer and Brewing proposed for the former Pabst Brewery.
